Member's Article: LADIES IN HASH (Harriets) by Heartbreaker

Written by: Sharon Tan a.k.a. Heartbreaker
In the Ancient Olympics, women were not allowed even to watch competitions, much less participate. In modern Olympics, initially, women were excluded from many sports like marathon, football and basketball as it was considered too dangerous or taxing for the female body. There were other concerns that menstruation will render a woman too weak for physical activity.

Today, women compete professionally and as amateurs in virtually every major sport; from karate, triathlon, water skiing to hashing.

At this point in the 21st Century, ladies have the privilege to participate and enjoy in widespread activities. I believe ladies should live an active life by participating in outdoor activities and do more exercise.  A very good way to promote physical fitness is by Hashing. It is not just a sport for men who wants to rough it out in the jungle, but for the modern day homemaker and female professionals.
On-on, Harriets!!

My recommendation to ladies joining for the first time is not to worry that you can’t run or climb as there are many Mr Nice Guys in Hash who are most willing to accompany you until you finish the run.

Fresh air & exercise make these Ladies
look younger than their age!! Never

use PHOTOSHOP  one, ya!
It’s a wonderful thing for ladies to be able to run and climb inside the jungle in groups without fear as there is safety in numbers. The best thing is breathing in the fresh air and sweating it out to improve health and in order to do all this, it means that you are still fit and have the stamina. After completing the run, you will feel good and glad that you made it, which I always do, and it’s worth the time and effort. Constant hashing can also make a lady feel good and look younger than her age. Don’t have to go facial so often, save money! More ladies should come and join hash.

I am passionate and enthusiastic about hashing, if not, I won’t be doing it for the past 15 years+ and still going …….On On!!
