The way hash runs are set with checks and false trails (False T) makes it very hard to judge who ran the best in a particular run.
This is my suggestion if there was a Hash League where top runners from all chapters compete say once a month. The suggestion below may even be applied to GH5 internally.
For each run, points are scored as such:
A. Points for finishing- 1st runner out - 5 points
2nd - 4 points
3rd - 3 points
4th - 2 points
5th - 1 point
B. First to reach a check or false T - 3 points
C. Breaking a check - 2 points + bonus 2 points if connected paper and waited for next runner (total 4 points).
The best runner will be the runner with most points.
For the benefit of readers who use chalk in their chapter, we use a biodegradable trail paper. Trail paper is laid every 7-10 steps. A check is signified by a bunch of trail paper and you know you have reached a False T if the paper trail ends abruptly.
