Run Site
Being in taman Tun, this is a popular run site with easy access from various places in Klang valley. Parking is ample with bright street lighting and away from residential houses. The hill stretches from here northwards to Penchala link until it reaches the Segambut side of the North-South highway. There are 3 peaks in all but Early Bird's run only took us to the 1st peak.
The Run
At 6pm, GM V-power signaled to start of the run. About 60 members and half a dozen guests, in high spirit, ushered quickly into the narrow entrance of the in-trail. As usual, Prince Charming Ben and Big Mouth Monkey (Derrick) led the way. Lucky Cock (Bak-kut-teh Heng) was the sweeper. The checks were easily broken. It took us about 30 minutes to reach the Penchala Link side of the hill, with the trail meandering up and down the slope. From here it was a short downhill to a tar road before turning right to enter the forest. Then it was uphill all the way for the next 12 minutes. For slower runners, it could take up to 30 minutes as the gradient was rather steep.
The trail did not exactly took us to the 1st peak of Kiara hills, but instead veer right downhill. With another couple of turns, the trail led us out into the familiar tar road and downhill to run site.
Ben came in at 7:02pm. Bak-kut-teh Heng, our sweeper, came back at 8pm to ensure our guests and slower runners were safely home.
Great run!
The Circle
GM V-power announced the next 3 runs (refer right column). New guests were introduced to members. Many members were also put on ice for various "sins".With dinner at Early Bird's restaurant, the circle ended a wee-bit early at 9:10pm.
