THE RUN SITE
Everyone of us had bittersweet memory of this run site. Many moons ago, Kenny Khoo (a virgin Hare then) also had his run here. He and his co-hare Ah Liang got themselves lost in the jungle, and with insufficient trail-paper took us on a very long "LAN". Various groups came back by various means of transportation. Some on foot, some by taxi, some sent back by local residents while Ah Chai and some girls flagged down a police car!

So much for history .. anyway, the run site has excellent parking facility. The hills are just a 10 mins walk away from the car park, behind Armanee Terrace condominium. Not big in terms of area, this hill peaked at 325 metres above sea level as compared to Kiara hills (200 metres) or Cheras Awana (250 metres).

PushUp Joanne prayed to "Tua Pek Kong or in Cantonese Tai Pak Kong", the God of Prosperity this morning - no wonder it rained throughout the whole evening!

The RUN
At 6pm sharp, GM V-power called for "ON-ON" with Wild Boar's air horn blasting away. It was still drizzling. 55 members and more than 10 guests went in, snaking their way up narrow footpath. Although the gradient wasn't steep, this is by no means easy as the trail up slope was long. Many guests and some of our lady members would attest to that.

Dense vegetation at the ground and plenty of banana trees with occasional tall trees stretching skywards could be seen along the trail. The jungle floor was very slippery and everyone moved at a slow pace. Yakitiyak stopped to wait for the back runners while Silent Gorilla, Wild Boar and Left-ball charged forward. Bak-Kut-Teh Heng and Big Mouth Monkey Derrick broke the first check. Prince Charming Ben (the co-Hare) subsequently had us trekking sideways round the mountain, then uphill again till we reached a narrow single-lane tar road. This long and winding road took us right up to the Telekom tower where a sign saying we were at 325 metres above sea level greeted us. It was 6:40pm.

By then it became apparent that the FRBs, a.k.a. Front Running Bastards, were very far ahead while the back runners must be at least 20 minutes behind us. Silent Gorilla Siew, Wild Boar, TanSri Frankie, me (Hong Kee), Dave and another group of about 15 hashers were bunched together. The paper-trail led us behind the tower then it was steep downhill for the next 5 minutes. Wet and slippery rules!!

UNSOLVED MYSTERY!
At the bottom of this trail, all of us saw our GH5 papers strewn under a huge tree, typically to signify a check.  Wild Boar went right, me down slope while Left-Ball MK turned left. A short distance away, MK gave an ON-Call shout. Paper was connected for the back runners and farther on MK broke another check. But we were wondering why the FRBs did not break these checks .... It was already 7:30pm and torch lights had to be used.

The terrain became rough, covered with fallen tree trunks, rocks and dead leaves. The trail took us down a small stream, out to Armanee Terrace, cutting through a construction site, crossing a monsoon drain and then back to the run site.

1st runner was out at 8pm, we at 8:40pm, and last runner Hi-Low the sweeper at 9:30pm. A big hand to Hi-Low and also Baby Monkey (sweeper) for guiding some slow runners out.

PushUp Joanne, the hare, was seen busy making dinner arrangements with the help of her pretty friends from PJ Harriets.  TanSri said he wanted to join the PJ Harriets and so was Silent Gorilla. PuanSri was still in the jungle struggling away!

Bak-Kut-Teh Heng and Big Mouth Monkey confirmed that they broke all 3 checks. Ben the co-hare concurred. The mystery till now is how in the world there were 2 other checks?? Ada HANTU ke!

Virgin Guests
Kenny Khoo, pls key in the names when you got them from Goldfinger.

Dave, Tony Bak-Kut-Teh, ....
The Circle
Circle started at almost 10pm. GM announced the next 2 runs, Baby Monkey jointly with Big Crazy Cock Tiam2 in Klang town which includes beers along the trail and Jungle Woman @ Kinrara.

Hong Kee was iced for starting to write scribes but not doing it much earlier. Yakitiyak and Lord were asked to assist in writing future scribes .. um, that's better .. I don't mind sitting on ice again ..

Lord gave some last minute information on the Chennai hash run.

King Trucker Khoo was given an On-Down birthday song.

Circle was cut short this time due to time constraint.

F and B (food and beer)
PushUp Joanne certainly lived up to expectation. There were roasted pork and Char-Siew rice. Fatman's Lok-Lok was also there. Plenty of beers and good company. To our many foreign guests (Thongs Ivan's friend as well as Chilli Padi's buddies), we hope you enjoyed our run and the camaraderie spirit and hope to see you guys again and again ......
