The response for the Family Trip has been very poor. Thus far we have 10 people who have actually paid up. I have decided to cancel the trip.
If you recall, I put it to the floor on the box as to what kind of trip you all wanted. Majority (>2/3) indicated that they wanted a 3 days-2 nights affair.
Then I put to vote during a circle whether to hold the trip during the August or November school holidays. Majority voted for November. I went further to ask the circle whether to hold it during the first (Nov 16-18) or second weekend (Nov 23-25) of the November school holidays. You all voiced out that it should be on the second weekend. As you can see my decision making process is very clean. Then a few weeks later, we changed it to the first week as majority agreed that if GM could not make it then it does not make sense which I also agreed.
But to date the response is dismal and we are unlikely to secure (in fact too late) the resort for the appointed dates (we need to pay a deposit). So I will propose during the next circle that we call it off. We can decide later what other activity we can do to replace the Bukit Gambang trip. I make clean decisions. We cancel it. We will refund to those who have paid for the trip.
You may suggest there should be more consensus on the venue which is irrelevant. It is not the venue but the fellowship and being a family having a meaningful time together. In truth how many of you have been to the Bukit Gambang resort? Further to that there were many suggestions like Pangkor and Langkawi plus a dozen other venues which would have cost much more.
