Hash Running Tips (2): Running uphill by Big Mouth Monkey

Most of our runs are in secondary jungles and hilly jungle reserves which Malaysia has been abundantly blessed with.

There may be stretches whereby 1 to 2km of a segment of the trail is entirely uphill which will fatigue even the best runners.

In the video below Big Mouth Monkey shares with us a useful tip to optimize our strength going uphill.

Ideally you would use your toes to climb up a hill "fast" like any sprinter. But you will get tired. The video demonstrates how to use the fore foot of your leading leg and the heel of your trailing leg. Once the leading leg gets tired, switch, and use your trailing leg as the leading leg. Whichever leg is in rotation, the leading leg always uses the fore foot and the trailing leg uses a heel push.

Please try it out in your next run! On!On!
