Total net collection, after hall rental, DJ, equipment rental, food and beverages, was RM60,000 (estimate). On top of this, dinner guests dug into their pockets to donate cash on-the-spot, totalling slightly more than RM4,000 to help us help the disadvantaged children.
Gasing hash members put up their own shows to entertain our guests, while the Carlsberg team tirelessly ensured everyone was not dehydrated.
The afternoon started with children from the 3 homes entertaining hashers with a lion dance and singing. Then at 3:45pm, "kwai lo" led the hashers and guests on a warm-up routine, accompanied by disco music. At 4pm sharp, Ben, our run master flagged off the runners. Some children from the homes also joined the run. The scenic route took them through Taman Megah, Sg Kayu Ara and Damansara Jaya.

The original route was to be 6.5km, but the front runners, being "half-blind", did not see the paper and instead took a short-cut back. Anyway it was a blessing as the rest followed and the shorter route, just about 4km, was just nice or in cantonese, "ngam ngam ho". If not, Kangaroo and wife would be late for dinner! The children enjoyed the run and later the finger food, fruits, drinks and tidbits.
