Run Site
This is a new run site for Gasing H5, though some members would have ran here before with other chapters. Though Semenyih is a bit of a distance for many of us, it's worth the while as the hills are still very much untouched. The site is surrounded by an industrial estate and some housing developments. Within its compound are fish ponds for fishing enthusiasts and a restaurant. This stretch of hill goes as far as Broga and beyond. Sparse ground vegetation with rubber trees mixed with smaller ones cover the hill slope. The air is fresh and the neighbourhood serene and peaceful ... perfect for couples planning an escapade, and we recommend ...... ah, better go back to writing the scribe.

The Run
Starting from the car park, a short walk crossing some fish ponds, the group of hashers numbering 85 were ushered up a gradient slope. Another 5 minutes of trekking, it's steep uphill for the next 10 minutes. This was a bit tough for some beginners.

Turning right, the trail took them downhill where the front runners found the 1st check. Prince Charming Ben being an experience hasher quickly broke the check. He and Bak-kut-teh Heng led the pack down to a small stream then uphill again. This is the 2nd hill and a long and very steep one indeed! Strong runners do not have problem but back runners need a few stops, otherwise as Tino (from FMC hash club) puts it, "tanki boleh overheated".

Thereafter, it was downhill all the way with one 90 degree cliff adding spice to the run. Thanks to the Hare, at the said cliff, they had tied a green rope to provide assistance to the runners.

Ben and Ah Heng came in at 6:52 pm and by 7:30pm majority had completed their run. Silent Gorilla and Baby Monkey were the sweepers with the latter coming in with Jungle Woman at around 8:30pm.

Immediately after the run, juicy water-melons and beers/100 plus await the hashers. We also had 25 FMC hashers and guests participating in this run.

The Circle
GM V-power gathered everyone for the circle at 8:30pm. She announced the next 3 runs (pls refer our blog on this page). FMC hashers and guests were introduced to everyone.

Baby Monkey came on the box next and Silent Gorilla was asked to read a message in English!! Even our Kuai Lor was very impressed .. but I thought he just laughed without understanding anything....

Lambo conducted the run rating. The hare had earlier bribed him with beers. He gave 9 points for the run.

Many hashers were iced for various offences! Later Dr Lord came on the box and he iced the Hare .. reason, the Hare had earlier in the afternoon forgot how to get to the run site!

Due to time constraint, the circle ended earlier than usual for our on-on dinner. Everything was courtesy of the Hare.

F and B (Food and Beer) On-On dinner was at the Fish Valley Restaurant at the run site. Food was delicious and beer was free-flowing. With good comradeship, excellent spirit and plenty of laughter, everyone had a happy ending. See you guys next Tuesday, 27th July at Bukit Idaman - Tau Cheong Sui's run!!
