All GH5 members,
Anyone interested to offer themselves for any committee position in the upcoming AGM are to make known their intention to all members so that member will have time to assess your qualification, your readiness and eagerness, your commitment to contribute to the club. This process itself is a democratic process, if you want to serve, you step forward to be counted. You should not be shy and wait for someone from the floor to proposed you and acted reluctantly to be voted in. in Hash, if you want to do it, said so!
The reason for such practice is to avoid last minute surprises which may result in candidate not really wanting the job end up with it. (The they will say, so and so want me in and voted me in). The committee will go around to check with potential candidates if they are keen to be considered for any post and will announced during the circle. So for those of you interested to contribute, please come forward, after which the member or the floor can decide. The current committee will facilitate an orderly transition and it is not controlling or dictating who should be in or who should be out.
A few words of advice to all GH5 members.
-Hash is non commercial, non religious and non political!
-Hash demands high integrity. Hashers has extreme short term memory, one can do 100 rights, people will forget, one mistake or wrong doing, you will be condemned forever.
-One must not have ulterior motive to join hash.
-The only thing you can gain from hash is fitness,fun, laughter, friendship, memory bank and waistline!
-Hash is not for self glorification but can be for self improvement!
-Hash is about giving what others gave you, reciprocating! Do not be a bloody Freeloader or Leech that always want to take advantage of others!
-Hash is equal for all irregardless of social status, profession or background. In another word, mutual respect.
If we all keep these motto in our mind, we will have a healthy hash chapter.
