1st day 22/11/13
This was how it begins, it started off with a responsible OC having
sleepless night a night before the
convoy for our Family Day outing to Damai Laut – Lumut. Everyone left house at around the same time early that Friday
morning, but for OCLeft Ball his plan was to reach Teluk Intan for his
sumptuous lunch. Whereas the rest of us would rather stopped over for some
kampong durians along the way, and with the smart technology in hand, even Goldfinger
and Bonsai whom were few thousand miles away from home and from us, got the
sight of the durians and seafood too.
Oc and his partner were one of the earliest to arrive at
Swiss Garden Hotel by noon, to sort out our room keys! The drive into this
hotel is very scenic, lush greenery with lake view. We wouldn’t miss passing by the Swiss Garden
Damai Laut Golf Resort, 18 holes golf
course, which is also one of the well-known golf courses in the Peninsula. The
lure of the green got our Warlord and James Bonk into golf frenzy, they have
got themselves prepared for the golf game, not once but twice!
The recce team, Prince charming and Thongs went in at around 3pm and came out at around
5:15pm, with the horrors at heart, we doubt Prince charming would set a killer
run for the young horrors, as mentioned by him later it was an easy trail of 4km ONLY! Sap sap sui!!
That afternoon, the Oc alongside with a few lady
companions, lady’s finger, chikatichik & myself, drove out to the small town (15 mins away) to source for
finger food for the next day, to our surprise it was not difficult at all to
spot a stall with lots of customers scouting from varieties of kuih ,
apparently we were told this is a famous stall around. Oc being himself, started spreading out his 10 fingers, food
tasting time of course!! No kidding, the kuih tasted good, and once our order
was done, we headed back to the Hotel to wait for more members to arrive. There
were about 20 children to grace the occasion, children will normally make the
occasion merrier!! Toddlers to teenagers this is what a Family Day is all
about!!
At the hotel lobby, family day’s goodies were given out
to all participants, which include an ocean blue T-shirt (by GH5) and a head
bandana sponsored by V-power (Jakes & Chez Rose) we thanked her for her
continuous generosity.
After a short rest, at 7pm we were all gathered at the
Gayam Restaurant, where Oc & GM gave us a briefing of next day’s programme.
This open air restaurant which is facing the beautiful sea view, where we could
enjoyed our delicious barbecue dinner and the sea breeze at the same time, what more
could you ask for? After a heavy load in the stomach, hashers
crunch for beer just outside the restaurant (beer not allowed inside), all of them seemed to be enjoying the
fellowship, young & old the same, mingled amongst ourselves untill midnight ! But the night was still fresh for the heavy
weights , of Rolex, Bang kok , sonny, prince charming & a few more, on on !
2nd DaY 23/11/13
A very sunny morning to start the day, breakfast at the
Hotel. The breakfast spread was good
enough for all, having said that , most of us spent at least 2-3 hours inside
the restaurant after eating, then chit chatting away in order to try to digest before the run which will
start at 2pm, most of us could noticed, Popeye
and Olive taking countless shots for each other. But GM & family were no
where to be found, except in the town at
the (One Ton Mee) stall.
The weather was hot that day, prince charming lead a
group of three, Tan Sri, Puan Sri and Thong went in to set the run at 1:45pm, and the hashers
got themselves ready for GM & OC to flag off at 2pm, you could see all attentive horrors
waiting for instructions! Once On On was called, in trail started from
the front of the hotel.
Right now, it’s the OC’s job to collect the finger food from the town
outside the hotel, they probably left at around 2:15pm, as some of us who were
taking charge of beer and setting up the circle venue. They were volunteers,
and they are none other than Bang kok,
Rolex, Stumpy , who also helped themselves with the cold beer. Thank you guys.
At about 3:30, the front runners and the rest were seen
running out one by one, but OC and gang
were not back with the finger food, everybody was hungry, at about ut an hour later , he was back with
a smile, mentioned to us that he has gone for his lunch first! The finger food were snapped up within minutes!
That was fast, no wastage, great!!
It was time for a circle, GM was on box and had put a few
sinners on ice, even some kids get the feel of ice too, they enjoyed it! And they couldn’t wait for the game to start, after
eyeing on so many colourful boxes with goodies,
being laid out on the table! I have prepared 6 interesting games, having the
kids & parents bonding at heart, with the objective for children get to
play alongside with their parents! Most of the parents, hashers & children
enjoyed their games very much, they were fooling around with face paints on
their faces, GM was the culprit! children & adults were seen targeting and chasing
and throwing at each other with the
water balloons!
Later in the evening, after more than an hour of
rest. We were all ready for a group
photo session, before we adjourned to
Pantai Remis restaurant for our dinner, the 7 course dinner was so delicious,
and well planned by our OC, all of us were well fed!
Before we could call it a night, drinking session had been planned
ahead at the hotel pool side, whereby our normal Kuaci session was in session
too, some wished to retire to bed earlier, but most of the hard-core drinkers,
will then crawled back to their rooms much later.
3rd DAY 24/11/13
After hotel breakfast, most of us started to head home,
some families leaving later, everybody reached home safe & sound!

To summarise it, it was a fun filled outing, having said
that, the objective to organize the Family Day is none other than to get
together with family and friends, to share and to enjoy the fellowship through
this outing!
This Is what we can contribute to the hashers and their
family members, making it an event to remember , to cherish , having the
thought of love and care and friendship between us! On On
On behalf of Oc and committee members, A big thank you to
