The Run
With a nice cool weather after an afternoon shower, 50 members and guests turned up for this "Valentine's Day" run. This run site at section 9 is quiet and a better venue as compared to our usual section 10 near the school.

At 6pm sharp, Chili-padi Karen, our Joint-mistress called for the run to commence. The initial trail was a 1.3 km run along the tar-road before turning left into the jungle.

As we headed eastwards, the gradient became steeper. It was uphill all the way until we reached the peak (217 metres) at the 2.4km mark. The ground was still wet and covered with lots of dead leaves. This secondary forest has small to medium size trees with narrow paths and light vegetation. And there were thorns everywhere!! By then, many runners took a short-cut back to run site. Piss-stop wanted to turn back but could not find Blur-blur who had already made a U-turn! Piss-stop had no choice but to finish the run!

From the peak the paper trail meanders downhill northwards for the next 500 metres till we reached a small stream. As we turned west, traffic sound could be heard coming from our right. This was the North-South highway. By then it was getting dark and torch-lights had to be used.

At the 4.7 km mark, we found ourselves running parallel to the highway, separated only by a chain-link fence.

As we neared the Esso station (located at the Sg Buluh Jejantas), the trail took a left turn, leading us back into the jungle. It was a slight climb before we came out to an open space. We later found out that this was a Muslim burial ground, yes a cemetery! But it was dark and we were all too tired to notice. What the !@#$.

As we arrived at run site, everyone was surprised that Piss-stop survived this 6 km "virgin" trail! In fact, Silent Gorilla had started to collect "Pak Kam" for him .... and for that he was later iced.

Good run and everyone came back safely. To Yak and Wild Boar, well done!!

After a short circle, dinner was served at run site. The hare, Chic Kety-Chick also threw in a few crates of beer and stout. Many thanks to the hare. The fellowship continued until 11:45pm. See you guys next Tuesday in Bukit Tinggi for Mad Dog's run. On-on!!
